Your kids are going to love making these DIY confetti bookmarks with a twist. They feature a clear center that is fun to decorate. So easy!

Skills Required: None. Any skill level can make these bookmarks, even if you’ve never crafted before. I would say this project is great for kids ages 5 and up – and adults too, of course!

diy confetti bookmarks

If you’re anything like me, you’ve got a book (or three) lying around at all times—and probably a random receipt or scrap of paper marking your place.

Let’s fix that with these DIY confetti bookmarks! They’re not just cute; they’re shakeable and sparkly, and they add a little party to your pages.

The best part? You don’t need any fancy tools or advanced crafting skills to make them. Just some cardstock, clear plastic, and a bit of tape, and you’re in business!

These are the perfect quick craft for kids and adults alike. Make them as bold or minimal as you like—use bright confetti for a pop of color, metallic sequins for a little glam, or even cut up construction paper shapes for a totally custom look.

bookmarks make with confetti

They also make awesome gifts! Think teacher appreciation, book club swaps, party favors, or even a fun way to add a personalized touch to a new book for a friend.

You can add names, quotes, or just go wild with color. Whatever your style, these bookmarks will bring a little extra joy to every reading session.

So grab your supplies, let’s get crafty, and get ready to add some sparkle to storytime!

    Cut Border
  • Cut the plastic sheets down to size, making sure they are smaller than the edges of your bookmark but bigger than the opening. You will need two plastic sheets per bookmark.
    Trim Plastic Sheet
  • Use double sided tape to attach your two plastic pieces together, leaving an opening on one side.
    Attach Sides of Plastic Sheet
  • Fill your plastic pockets with confetti, sequins or any flat pieces.

Make a DIY air dry clay ring holder! This easy craft is fun to paint and personalize—perfect for gifts or organizing your favorite jewelry.

Skills Required: Beginner. You should have a little bit of crafting experience for this project, but not much. You’ll be cutting out clay to shape a dish and then doing some (very simple) hand painting.

diy trinket dishes

I don’t know about you, but I have a lot of nostalgic crafts from my childhood. I went to a Montessori preschool, and for whatever reason I remember a lot of the craft projects we did there . . . even more so than elementary school!

We worked with clay a lot, probably because it’s a tactile, sensory experience for kids. Clay also allows for boundless creativity – you can make just about anything. And we did.

One of the crafts I remember vividly due to its ease: small clay trinket dishes. We cut circles out of clay and decorated them to our heart’s desire with paint.

I’m ready to share that fun idea from my past with you – today. If you love cute little projects that are both stylish and simple, this air dry clay ring holder is a must-try!

DIY Clay Ring Holder

Whether you need a chic way to organize your jewelry or a thoughtful handmade gift, this project is easy to make and endlessly customizable.

Even if you’ve never worked with clay before, this project is beginner-friendly. The process is relaxing and fun, allowing you to experiment with different shapes, colors, and designs.

These DIY ring holders are perfect for keeping your favorite jewelry in one place, whether on a bedside table, vanity, or bathroom counter.

Want to make it even more special? Personalize it with initials, floral patterns, or abstract designs to match your style.

Handmade and heartfelt, these ring holders are ideal for birthdays, holidays, Mother’s Day, bridesmaid gifts, teachers, or even as a sweet surprise for a friend who loves jewelry.

The possibilities are endless, and the final product is both functional and beautiful. Ready to create your own? Grab some clay, roll it out, and let’s get crafting!

Course Everyday Crafts
Prep Time 15 minutes

Dry Time 24 hours
Total Time 25 hours
Servings 2 dishes
Cost $2

Equipment

Ingredients

  • Air dry clay or polymer clay
  • Parchment paper
  • Multisurface craft paint colors of your choice
  • Clear acrylic sealer Mod Podge – could be another brush on or spray as well

Instructions

  • Pull off a piece of clay and roll it around in your hands to warm it up. Using the rolling pin, roll and flatten it out. You will want to have at least a 1/4” thick piece.
  • Use your circle cookie cutter (or whatever shape you like) to cut the clay to a nice, clean, round shape.
  • Use a round object such as the bottom of a bowl to shape your clay for it to be rounded – meaning more dish-shaped, and not flat. Place parchment paper over the bowl and smooth down. You can wet your finger and rub it around the clay to smooth also.
    Shape Clay into Bowl
  • If you are using air-dry clay, let it dry for a few hours to a few days, until it has hardened.
  • Use a pencil to sketch the design of your choice onto the clay.
    Draw your Design
  • Once hardened, paint your details – I chose flowers, but you can decorate with cute animal figures, leaves, stripes, dots – the possibilities are endless!
    Paint Your Design
  • Seal your piece with an appropriate sealer – Mod Podge works great for air dry clay, and . Let it dry, and you’re done!

Notes

Step 3: If you use polymer clay, you’ll need to make sure that the bowl you’re using as a mold is oven safe. You can also use the inside of the bowl for your shaping.
Step 4: If you are using polymer clay, follow the instructions on the package on how to bake your clay piece for it to harden.
Step 7: Use a polymer clay glaze for polymer clay.

Create a unique DIY doily bowl with fabric stiffener! This simple craft adds a touch of elegance to your decor in just a few easy steps.

Skills Required: None. Even if you’ve never crafted or Mod Podged before, you can do this project. It’s great for beginning crafters.

DIY doily bowls

About a year ago I found a bunch of colorful doilies in the dollar bin at Michaels. I wasn’t quite sure what I was going to do with them at the time – in fact, I thought I might use them on canvases.

I bought a bunch of them and then never put them on canvas . . . so upon recent assessment of my craft supply bin, I realized it was time to either use them or lose them. So I grabbed some Mod Podge Stiffy and decided to use one to make a doily bowl.

Then I made more than one! Learn how this easy adult craft is done below. Oh, and if you want to see a video – I’ve embedded one at the bottom. Check that out too!

Gather These Supplies

  • Doilies – any size, any color
  • Mod Podge Stiffy or other fabric stiffener
  • Aluminum foil or plastic wrap (or both)
  • Real bowls a little larger than the bowl size you want to make
  • Small plastic container used for crafts

When you’re done, you’ll be surprised that you have REAL bowls! That hold candy and stuff. I’m going to try this with doilies of various sizes – AND think about the containers you could use that would make different shapes. So cool.
