Maybe it’s just me, but there’s something super fun about seeing GIANT things. Hi! It’s Leslie from Pink Stripey Socks! Today I’m sharing a really neat series of GIANT greeting cards! Yup.

If you like making your own birthday cards, this is going to be fun for you.

These are the extremely large cousins of your typical grocery store cards. Aren’t they a hoot? They’re easy to make and sure to provide giggles and laughs all around!

Child holding a giant birthday card

They’re fun for kids or adults. I can see making these with kids of course, but I would have no hesitation making one for a friend or co-worker.

You can hand these out for birthday parties, baby showers, graduation, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day . . . wouldn’t a ring be fun for a bachelorette or wedding? They’re so cute and perfect for photo props.

They’re also a great idea for Earth Day since they’re a great way to recycle cardboard you have on hand. Ready to start? Ok! Let’s get crafting!

Here are the materials you’ll need:

  • Clean corrugated cardboard
  • Pencil
  • Eraser
  • Scissors
  • Paintbrush
  • Craft paint

I hope you have a fun time crafting these GIANT greeting cards. If you have kids, I’m sure they’d love to dive on in and make some too!

Do you want to incorporate a photo booth in an upcoming wedding or birthday party? These colorful DIY photo booth props are easy to decorate!

Skills Required: None. Even if you’ve never crafted before, you can make these props. You’ll be painting and gluing. It’s easy; just requires some patience.

diy photo booth props

Looking for a creative way to jazz up your next party or family gathering? DIY photo booth props are a fun and unique addition that let you unleash your creativity while adding some extra flair to your event.

I recently stumbled across some wooden photo prop blanks in my craft stash, and I couldn’t resist giving them a colorful makeover.

The best part about these props is that they’re a blank canvas, ready to be transformed with whatever craft supplies you have on hand.

how to make photo booth props

Whether it’s paint, glitter, or other embellishments, the possibilities are endless. Plus, they’re perfect for using up those odds and ends from your craft drawer!

In this post, I’m sharing how I decorated my photo booth props to give them personality and charm. While this isn’t a step-by-step tutorial, I hope it inspires you to grab your crafting tools and have fun customizing your own.

Let your imagination run wild and create props that will make everyone smile—and maybe even strike a pose. Here’s what I used to make them.

Gather These Supplies

You may not know where to begin. Sometimes I think the easiest thing to do is start with what you know to get the creative juices flowing. Meaning, it’s easy to paint a mustache black because a lot of mustaches are black. Then go from there.

diy photo props

This was such a fun exercise – and let me suggest to you that if you need a creative jump start or outlet, grab some wood pieces and just let your mind go wild!

How would you decorate your photo props? Let me know in the comments! Get the printable how to card below:

Make DIY Cake Toppers

It happens all the time. You’re planning a get-together, piecing together all the elements that turn a simple gathering into a memorable bash. You’ve got the playlist sorted, the guest list checked off, and a cake that’s ready to steal the show.

But then you think, “How can I make this cake truly unforgettable without having to master the art of baking overnight?” The answer is simpler and more fun than you might think: DIY cake toppers.

Yes, you read that right. The secret ingredient to turning a plain Jane cake into the centerpiece of your party doesn’t lie in the batter or the oven; it’s all in the personal touch that sits atop your cake.

Whether we’re five or fifty, the allure of a beautifully presented cake never fades. It’s the highlight of many celebrations, not just for the taste but for the photo ops, too!

With over 30 tutorials that I’ve gathered, creating your own cake toppers is as easy as pie (or cake, in this case). From the utterly simple yet chic, like adding a sparkle with some glittery letters, to getting a bit more hands-on with some miniature themed sculptures, there’s something for every level of craftiness and for every occasion.

Think about it: no more generic “Happy Birthday” signs that wobble precariously on the cake. Instead, you’re crafting pieces that add to the party’s vibe, serving not just as a cake topper but as a piece of the party decor.

And the best part? You don’t need to be a wizard with fondant or icing. Grab a cake from your favorite store, and let’s focus on giving it a makeover that would make even the simplest of cakes Instagram-worthy.

Whether it’s playful pom-poms that bring a pop of color or a chic, minimalist design that speaks volumes in elegance, your cake will be dressed to impress.

So, if you’re looking to add that special touch to your next party cake, check out this collection homemade cake toppers. It’s about turning the ordinary into something extraordinary, all with a bit of creativity and fun. Let’s make your cake the talk of the town (or at least the party)!!

Impressive Homemade Birthday Cards

Why you should give a homemade birthday card?

If you’re here I probably don’t need to do that much convincing. But for those who are hesitant, there are so many reasons why a DIY card is a good idea for birthdays, holidays, and even party invitations:

The personal touch brings joy. Imagine the joy on your loved one’s face, knowing you crafted a card specifically for them. That personal touch speaks volumes, doesn’t it? Plus if you’re giving money, the card is part of the birthday gift.

Crafting cards at home is cost-effective. With materials likely already within your reach, the days of splurging $4-8 on a single card are over, especially when you have a calendar full of celebrations.

You have more creative control. The hunt for the perfect card can be endless – either the birthday message is off, or the design doesn’t resonate. By taking the DIY route, you’re in the driver’s seat, steering towards a creation that’s 100% your recipient.

You can use up extra craft supplies. Birthday cards don’t require a lot of material. You can use ribbon and paper scraps, the tiny bit of glitter left in the container, and the stickers your kids never touched.

If you’re doubting your craftiness or think you need fancy tools, put those thoughts aside. I’ve curated a list of 25 straightforward, guide-laden birthday card projects that prove otherwise. No costly gadgets needed – just your willingness to try.

For those gearing up for a party, why not dive into our DIY party or birthday decor guides? They’re brimming with inspiration to elevate your celebration.
