Skills Required: None. Even if you’ve never crafted before, you’re going to easily be able to do this project. The most important skill is knowing how to carve a pumpkin and remove the insides.

I don’t know about you, but when it comes to fall decorating, I absolutely love going with natural materials and textures as much as possible. I just love that sort of feel on my mantels and for table decor.

Along those lines, I really love pumpkin. I like the gourd itself for decorating and I like the recipes. What can’t you do with pumpkin in the fall? I like decorating fake pumpkins and I like decorating real ones as well.

In fact, these DIY pumpkin vases are made with REAL pumpkins! Yep, I’m going to show you how to turn pumpkins into vases that make perfect autumn decor or table centerpieces. These are great for Thanksgiving decorating too.

This works for any size pumpkin; the only difference is how much floral foam you use and how many flowers you use.

How Long Do These Last?

They will last about two weeks if you aren’t containing the water in a glass vessel. It can last much longer if you use a glass vessel to keep bacteria from the flowers from getting into the pumpkin.

You can help extend the life of a carved pumpkin by soaking it in a bucket of water and 2/3 cup bleach (yes, already carved). Leave there for 24 hours if you can.

DIY Pumpkin Flower Vases

Learn how to make a pumpkin vase using any size gourd. Makes perfect home decor for fall.

Equipment

• Pumpkin carving tools or knife
• Spoon
• Scissors

Ingredients

• 3 Mini pumpkins
• 1 bouquet flowers you can get them inexpensively from the grocery store or Trader Joes
• 3 Votive candle holder
• Floral foam
• Vaseline optional

Instructions

• Wash the pumpkins to remove any dirt using mild soap. Let dry.
  
• Cut a small circle around the stems of the pumpkins, roughly the size of the votive jars.
  
• Pop out the stem pieces and trim the part that went into the pumpkins.
  
• Scoop out the seeds using a spoon and reserve for roasting.
  
• Soak the floral foam according to the package instructions. Then trim the foam pieces to fit the jars and press snugly inside.
  
• Start arranging the jars by inserting flowers into the floral foam.
  
• Continue. It's easy to pull the flowers out of the foam and reinsert if you need to.
  
• Slip the jars into the carved pumpkins. Carefully add in any stems if the arrangements don't look full enough.
  
• To help preserve the pumpkins and make them shine, wipe a bit of vaseline on the outside and buff gently to a shine.

Skills Required: Beginner. It helps to have experience with a craft knife if you don’t have a cutting machine, just because you’ll be cutting out some detail. Otherwise, this is a very simple project and it can be done in an afternoon.

Do you love easy fall crafts that let you use up leftover supplies? If so, I have the perfect project for you: scrapbook paper art! I don’t know about you, but I have a lot of scrapbook paper sitting around that never seems to get used.

Rather than letting those beautiful scraps go to waste, why not turn them into something truly unique? Today, I’m sharing a fun autumn craft that will transform those leftover paper pieces into stunning scrap paper art.

This project is simple and versatile – it’s all about creating beautiful leaf-themed wall art that celebrates the spirit of fall.

The best part? It’s so easy that the kids can join in, too. Imagine all the different variations they could create! Whether you’re looking for a fun family activity or a quick seasonal craft to spruce up your home decor, this project is going to be right up your alley.

Gather those scraps (I know you have them) and let’s get creative with some vibrant, autumn-inspired scrap paper art!

Scrap Paper Art for Autumn

Gather These Supplies

• Fall scrapbook paper
• Sheets of 8.5 x 11 white cardstock – 2
• Glue or double stick tape
• Frame (optional)
• Craft knife and mat (optional)
• Leaf template or Cut file

Cut the Paper

First cut out several strips of scrapbook paper. Don’t worry about making them all the same size. I think a little variety adds interest to the project.

Just make sure they are long enough to go across the width of the leaf template. You can also piece scraps together horizontally using tape on the back.

Attach it to the Background

Glue the strips of paper across one piece of white card stock, slightly overlapping the edges. Lots of double stick tape works well too.

Create the Leaf Template

Cut a leaf out of the center of a second sheet of card stock using the template or cut file provided. I used my Silhouette, but a pair of scissors or craft knife works too.

Attach the Template

Put glue on the back of the sheet with the leaf cutout and glue it down on top of the scrapbook paper. Smooth thoroughly.

Now you can frame it or hang it as-is. So easy! The unique decor looks really great up on my fireplace mantel.
